Carl W. Stamm, 61-year-old former Mooreland resident, was tragically taken in an automobile accident, on Sunday November 1, 2009 in Rio Vista, CA. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Elmwood Cemetery.
Carl William Stamm was born on September 11, 1948 in Stratton Nebraska to Roy and Mildred Stamm. He graduated from Laverne High School in 1967. Carl served one term in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1975. Carl worked for many years at ANR Pipeline in Mooreland. He retired after working over 20 years with the company. In 2003 he moved to California to be closer to his daughter, Kristy, and grandchildren, Blake and Hunter. At the time of his death he was a truck driver for Frank C. Alegre Trucking, where he had been employed the last 6 ½ years. He loved working for Alegre and had made many great friends there.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife Kathy in 1985. He is survived by his parents, Roy and Mildred Stamm of Laverne; one son, Brian Griffin of Fresno, California; two daughters Kristy Apple and husband George of Isleton, California, Lisa Cambre and husband John of Lafayette, Louisiana; two grandsons; Matthew Griffin of Lemoore, California and Hunter Apple of Isleton, California; one granddaughter, Blake Apple of Isleton, California. He is also survived by brother Leo Stamm and wife Rhonda of Kansas, Oklahoma and sister, Pam Freeman and husband Steve of Alva; many nieces, nephews, and Carl’s long time companion JoAnn Dixon of Woodward.
Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Peters Altar Society with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
