Rene Borunda Nevarez, 39 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in Oklahoma City from complications of an accident. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the St. Peters Catholic Church. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at the St Peters Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Rene Borunda Nevarez was born on August 9, 1970 in Santa Ana Chihuahua, Chihuahua to Agustin Borunda and Gloria Nevarez. He grew up in Santa Ana Chihuahua and attended school there. He was united in marriage to Bertha Eridia Montes on December 11, 1998 in Perryton, Texas. They made their first home in Seiling before moving to Woodward. Rene worked as a Welder and had most recently had been working for Unibridge Scale Systems in Woodward.

Rene was a member of the St. Peters Catholic Church. He enjoyed being a handy man around the house and he loved being with his family. His family was his life and he loved them dearly.

He is survived by his wife Bertha Borunda of the home; two sons, Rene Alberto Borunda and Angel Omar Borunda of the home; two brothers, Benjamin Borunda Nevarez and Pedro de Jesus Borunda; three sisters, Erika Borunda, Cristina Borunda and Delia Borunda; numerous other relatives and many friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
