Scotty J. Robison, 86 year old Woodward resident, died Monday, March 1, 2010 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Custar officiating. Interment will be in the South Persimmon Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Scotty James Robison was born on October 2, 1923 in Bearden, Oklahoma to Thomas Grover and Nancy Emaline (De Shields) Robison. The family lived in Sharon when Scotty was a teen and later moved to California in the 1930's. Scotty was inducted into the United States Army in September of 1943 and served his country in the Philippines during World War II. He received 2 Bronze Stars and was honorably discharged on February 26, 1946. He was united in marriage to Mildred Pruitt in 1947 in Alabama. They made their home in Alabama for a period of time before moving to California. Scotty worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Sharpe Army Depot for many years in Salida, California. He continued living in California until retiring and moving to Sharon in 2002.

Scotty was a member of the South Persimmon Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing and watching sports on television, dominoes, driving his car and going to the Senior Citizens Center.

He is survived by one son James Robison and wife Lupe of Salida, California; three daughters Sarah Robison of Georgia, Sheila Robison of Houston, California, Paula Mangan and husband Tom of Paramount, California; one brother Fred Robison of Garden City, Kansas; two sisters Lecy Keltch of Sharon, Ola Blackmon of Woodward; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mildred, two daughters, Janet and Sandra, four brothers, Earl Robison, Clifford Robison, Russell Robison, Leonard Robison and two sisters Bertie and Essie Robison.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodward Senior Citizens Center or the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
