James Walton Holt was born August 14, 1956 in Denver, Colorado to Preston Leon and Edna Louise (Pennebaker) Holt. James grew up in Denver and attended Denver schools until moving to Woodward with his family in 1970. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1977. James was united in marriage to Dora Padilla in 1977 in Woodward, Oklahoma. To this they were blessed with two sons, James Waylon and Barak Ryan.
James worked in the oilfield for over 30 years doing anything that was asked of him. His last job he was working as a Swabber. He loved playing the guitar, gardening and watching Nascar.
He is survived by his two sons, Waylon Holt and wife Linda of El Paso, Texas; Barak Holt of El Paso, Texas; two grandchildren, Raenell Holt and Leilani Holt; four brothers, Rocky Holt and his wife, Wendy of Oklahoma City; John Holt and his wife Valerie of Denver, Colorado; Bobby Holt of Lakewood, Colorado; Ben Holt of Woodward; one sister, Sally Crisswell and her husband Rex of Northglen, Colorado; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robbie Holt on September 26, 2007.
