Obituary for John William "Bill" Walker

John William Bill Walker, 75 year old Woodward resident, died Sunday, August 12, 2018 at his home in Woodward. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2018 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

John William Walker was born on November 5, 1942, to Donald Raymond and Jessie Cleo Walker in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. John attended private and public schools in his youth and lived with his family until coming to OARC in August of 1981.

John married Betty Jean King on August 14, 1982, and made their home in Woodward, Oklahoma. John and Betty were well known to Woodward, always attending home games to cheer on the Boomers in any sport! He was also known at the businesses he worked at for years. John worked at Domino’s Truck Stop for seven years before retiring in 2003.

John was the proud owner of his son Skippy, his canine companion for many years. He and Betty enjoyed riding around town in Johns (blue bird) the name he had given his car, and attending various community events.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; family members Frank Walker of Bethany; Nita Tichenor of Oklahoma City; Mike D'Eath of Tulsa; brother-in-law, Bill King of Paragould, Arkansas; sister-in-law Mary Lou King Higgs of Tucson, Arizona; many friends and extended family members at OARC.
