Obituary for Martin Arvid Crissup

Martin Arvid Crissup, passed away peacefully in his home in Newcastle, Oklahoma on Sunday, September 10th, 2017. A memorial service will be held at the Tri-City Worship Center in New Castle at 10:00 am on Monday, September 18, 2017.

Martin was born on May 30th, 1943, to Arvid Elric "Red" and Wilda Mae Crissup, in Mooreland, Oklahoma. He was the little brother to Avis Nadeen and big brother to Christopher “Kent”. He married Karen Sue Hart around midnight on his 21st birthday, May 30th, 1964, in Hennessy, OK. When they married, he became a dad to 5 year old David Wayne Goff. Martin and Karen had two additional children, a daughter, Marti Sue Crissup, and a son, Michael "Mike" Blake Crissup. Martin was a fun Daddy and always did his best to be involved with his children and grandchildren.

Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Karen, both parents, his step-father, and both his siblings. He is survived by his son, David Goff and wife Karion, of Tuttle, Ok; his son, Michael and wife, Samantha “Sammy Jo” Crissup, of Newcastle, Ok; and daughter, Marti Crissup, of Oklahoma City, Ok; as well as his numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other extended family.

Martin will be cremated and his ashes will be taken by his family, at his request, to the Colorado Rocky Mountains where Martin himself has taken many of his loved ones ashes before him. Karen’s ashes await him from her favorite valley near Independence Pass.
