Obituary for Jearold Wayne Arnold

Jearold “Wayne” Arnold, 84 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019 in Woodward. Private family memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made under the Billings Funeral Home.

Jearold Wayne Arnold Sr. was born on December 29, 1934 in Quinlan, Oklahoma to Milroy Arnold and Minnie (Sanders) Arnold. He was reared in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School in 1953. Jearold was inducted into the United States Air Force in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1956. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was united in marriage to Hazel Garrett on February 18, 1960 in Clayton, New Mexico. The couple made their first home in Woodward and were blessed with five children, Chris, Jerry, Tracey, Marci, and Barbara “Barbie”.

Jearold had numerous jobs including the Woodward COOP, Northwest Wholesale, Benbrooks, and Comfort Zone. He enjoyed camping and working on cars and lawnmowers. He was a Christian. Jearold’s family gave him the most enjoyment in life.

He was survived by his sons, Chris Arnold, Jerry Arnold and wife Tina, Tracey Arnold and wife Christine; daughter, Barbara “Barbie” Eatmon and husband Michael; brother, Harry Arnold and wife Gretah; 14 grandchildren, Tabathia, Brandon, Ashlea, Brigitte, Curtis, Kendra, Amanda, Kimberly, Elizabeth, Anthony, Charity, Andrea, Rick, and James; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel; daughter, Marci; and brothers, Bill and Gene.
