Obituary for Noce Evans

Noce Evans, 95 year old Woodward resident died Sunday, August 11, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Noce Evans was born on July 20, 1924 in Bloomfield, Oklahoma near Camargo. As a child, he attended a small country school near Bloomfield. His family later relocated near Woodward, where he then attended Woodward schools. Noce was inducted into the United States Marine Corps on October 27, 1943. Noce served as a sharpshooter in several major battles during World War II Saipan, the Marian Islands, and Tinian. Noce was united in marriage to Betty Jean Crofts on April 5, 1946 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and they made their home in Woodward. He was honorably discharged on March 29, 1946. Noce worked for OG&E for 41 years retiring as Line Foreman and Master Electrician. He also served on the Woodward Fire Department for 20 years.

Noce and Betty were very active in the Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts of America working with many young men and women helping provide a foundation for success for countless young people throughout Woodward County. Noce also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars as well as the Woodward American Legion.

Noce attended Elm Street Baptist Church.

Noce is survived by two sons, Gary Evans of Woodward; Chris Evans and wife Maria of Guymon; two daughters, Elizabeth Jean Gould and husband Glen of Rockport, Texas; Betty Munsell and husband Dick of Woodward; 12 grandchildren, Tony Gould; Donna Rae Ashe and husband Todd; Brenda Allen and husband Eric; Jonathan Baird and wife Ellie; Aaron Evans; Nicole Evans; Avery Evans; Emily Evans; Sophie Evans; Lance Quintana; Rusty Munsell and Ky Pierce; 8 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces; nephews; other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Donna Evans Baird; grandson, Dalton Allen; sister, Therlene Hiniger; brother, Alfred Evans.

Memorial contributions may be made to Woodward American Legion; Woodward Elks Lodge; Woodward Boy Scouts with the funeral home accepting the donations.
